As most of you know, I'm an avid fan of The Amazing Race. Well, after the season finale on Sunday I decided to look in to the application process. I found out they were still accepting through today, so I got to work and Dakota and I through together this little video. Fingers crossed everybody!

May Question #6: What is the Hardest Thing You've Ever Experienced
As I sat here pondering what on earth could be the hardest thing I've experienced, I was drawing a blank. Maybe it's because I've tried having a more positive outlook on life in general or maybe I'm just super woman (HAHA... Not). I've lost grandparents and close family, but I know where they are and I am comforted in knowing they are truly in a better place. So as funny as it may sound, the only thing I could think of was a couple of really bad breakups I went through. I know, I know, everyone has dealt with them yada yada yada. But in my case, they were both horrible situations with in which I was in love with the person at hand. Now as I look back, I could not be more grateful for the failed relationships, I would have never met my sweet husband. But at the time these had a very negative impact on me as a person. I was constantly coming down on myself. "Why am I not good enough?", "What do I have to change to make someone love me?" etc. I was in a bad place. I never want to feel like that again. I feel like I will never have to feel like that again. I feel like I was made stronger by coming through those days with my head held high. We cannot choose what will happens to us, but we can choose how we will react to it.
May Question #5: What are the 5 Things That Make You The Most Happy Right Now?
1) My Husband. Heaven knows I love that man with everything I have. He makes me laugh daily and I look forward to coming home to him at night!
2) Going to the Temple. There's nothing quite like the peace you feel when you're in the temple. Being able to go and do work right along side my husband brings me so much joy!
3) That darn cat. I'm usually posting some kind of incriminating photo of that feline, but I love her so much. I love to hear her bell jingle when I open up the front door at night and all the snuggles I get when we're watching TV.
4) Family. I love that we get to live so close to both my and Dakota's families. I am so grateful for everything they do for us and the time we get to spend with them. I love that even though the oldest boys live out of state we get to do regular video chats with them and see how their families are growing.
5) Summer! I am not a fan of winter. I like to snowboard, that is about it's only redeeming quality in my world. I look forward to sunshine, shorts and sunglasses all winter long and summer's finally arrived!

May Question #3: Describe My Relationship with my Parents
| Kenny Loggins Concert 2011 |
My Dad: My dad is great. When it came to making me I've got 90% of my mother's looks and only 10% of my father's. You'd think he lost out in the dominant gene category, but then I start talking. Forever people have told me I look just like my mom (which is funny considering I don't think so in the picture above) and I usually tell them "Yeah, but I act just like my dad". I love that my dad and I are totally in to the same nerdy things. We can rock out to some classic rock, get our History Channel on and we know that The Truth is Out There (X-Files anyone?). My dad is great at helping me figure out major life decisions and talking me through things. He's been a coach, a mentor, a spiritual leader, a shoulder to cry on and mostly just one of my best friends. Thanks for everything you do dad! I love you!
My Mom: My mom is the first one on my speed dial, not only because she's my mom, but she's my bestie. My mom has been there through thick and thin. She's been my number one fan and the person I look to to answer any question, no matter how outrageous. I can tell her anything and I know she's got my back. We have a mutual adoration for movies and we know how to have a good time. Mom can make me laugh at almost any moment, maybe because of something silly she does, but it always seems to do the trick. I can't imagine life without my mama. I love you so much mom! Thanks for being the best! Loves!

May Question #2: Three Legitimate Fears
1) Not being able to have children. Maybe it's just me, but doesn't it seem like women are having a harder time getting pregnant these days? I've had a legitimate fear that I may not be able to have children since I was 16 years old. I don't know what it is, but I just know that I want to be a mother so badly and that news like that for me would be so hard to bare. And for those of you that have already had this struggle, you are so strong for handling that, my prayers are with you. And I know by one way or another I will be a mother, I just hope that it works the first time around.
2) Dakota getting shot in the line of duty. Hi, yeah, my husband wants to be a police officer. I think it is a great career choice for him and I think it will be something that really makes him happy. However, there's this little voice that always spooks me. You know the one, that voice that's like "Police officers get shot!" Nothing would be worse than losing my husband. So don't get shot.
3) Getting some kind of horrible disease. I read an article about a couple that had dated for 6 years and when the guy went in for a check up they found out he had terminal testicular cancer. After a year long battle, he stopped responding to treatments and passed away. He was very positive through the entire experience, but it just makes me sad to see someone die so young. I just want to be able to experience a full life with the ones I love most.
